NVIDIA Attestation Services: Upcoming Authentication Changes

Advisory Notice

NVIDIA Attestation Services, including the RIM Service, OCSP Service, and NVIDIA Remote Attestation Service (NRAS), will require API key authentication in a future update. Currently, these services are accessible without API keys, but to improve service reliability and security, authentication will be required beginning August 15, 2025.

What This Means For You

  • Current Access: Attestation Services are available without authentication until August 15, 2025, when API keys will be required.
  • Future Requirement: API keys will be required to access these services.
  • Key Management: You will need to create an NVIDIA GPU Cloud account to generate and manage API keys for accessing NVIDIA Attestation Services.
  • Rate Limiting for Unauthenticated Requests: After August 15, 2025, requests without valid API keys will be subject to rate limiting, which will significantly reduce service performance for unauthenticated access.
  • Service Tiers: Both free R&D access and commercial licensing options will be available.

Transition Plan

NVIDIA is committed to a smooth transition that won't disrupt existing implementations:

  1. A transition period will be provided with ample notice before mandatory authentication begins.
  2. Clear documentation for generating and implementing API keys will be provided.
  3. Existing workloads will continue to function during the transition period.

Next Steps

  • Create an NGC Account Now: NVIDIA strongly recommends creating an NGC account and organization as soon as possible, even though authentication is not yet required.
  • Prepare for API Key Integration: Begin planning how you’ll integrate API keys into your attestation workflows.
  • Test Early: Test your implementation while services continue to function. During this period, the system will provide diagnostic feedback about missing or invalid keys without interrupting service.

Taking proactive steps now will help ensure uninterrupted access to these critical services when authentication becomes required.
